Learn your way around Sevens

Use the controls beside the game rather than guessing the rules. Play every card to four suit sequences that expand outward from their sevens. Keep the goal in mind before your next move. A standard deck is dealt to four players, thirteen cards each. Try the rule on the board, then read the next instruction.

Four-player free Sevens with three local computer opponents. This table uses the seven-of-diamonds opening and low Aces.

Give this approach a try

Read the position before choosing your next action. Extend the low end or high end of an open suit by one rank. Aces are low below twos; kings are the high end. Start a new round when you are ready to try again.

What counts as success

Take a moment to check the current turn. Play every card to four suit sequences that expand outward from their sevens.

How to proceed

  1. A standard deck is dealt to four players, thirteen cards each.
  2. The holder of 7♦ must play it first. Other suits can open with their own seven.
  3. Extend the low end or high end of an open suit by one rank. Aces are low below twos; kings are the high end.
  4. Play a legal card whenever possible. Passing is allowed only when no card fits.
  5. The first player with an empty hand wins the round.

Getting comfortable with the controls

Keep the goal in view while choosing a move. Tap an enabled card from your hand. The suit rows show cards already played. Use Pass only when it is enabled. The game area remains available above the explanation.

Put the rules into context

Read the position before choosing your next action. After 7♥ is opened, 6♥ or 8♥ can be played. 5♥ must wait until 6♥ is on the table. The game area remains available above the explanation.

Avoid this misunderstanding

Keep the goal in view while choosing a move. A matching rank in another suit does not extend an existing row. Every suit has its own sequence. Start a new round when you are ready to try again.
